5 Reasons to Embrace Change

Change of any kind, big or small, can be daunting however it is inevitable, it will happen, and it can be hard but that is completely normal. We are hardwired to survive and once we know something is comfortable, it makes us feel secure so disturbing that balance can seem frightening. As change is something we will constantly deal with during our lifetimes, it is even more important to understand why change is a good thing, one that we should view with positivity.

1.  IT OFFERS OPPORTUNITY

Change naturally brings with it new opportunities and the chance to embrace new experiences. Saying yes to change means you will have the opportunity to meet new people, see new things and learn a great deal about yourself and the world. Think about looking back on your life at all the amazing adventures you have had by just simply being open to expanding your horizons.

2.  YOU LEARN ABOUT YOURSELF

Change is challenging and no one said it would be easy, but it will be rewarding. Pushing yourself allows your mind to grow and you will find yourself developing as a person. You will learn about your strengths and weakness and ultimately who you are. It allows you to understand yourself better and hopefully when change presents itself again in the future, you will take your previous experience into consideration and be open to it.

3.  SMALL CHANGES LEAD TO BIG CHANGES

Change for some people is much harder than for others and that is fine, we are all on our own journeys. So, when you are making changes, make ones based on how far you think you can push yourself out of your comfort zone. If a big change seems too much, then take baby steps to get there. Small changes are incredibly powerful in showing us how capable we are, so just keep making them until you get there.

4.  IT’S BETTER TO EMBRACE THAN RESIST

Ironically, change is one of the only constants we have. Change, whether we like it or not, will happen so rather than using your energy trying to fight it, why not channel it elsewhere. If something is going to happen anyways, try to look at the positives and you will feel much better for it.

5.  IT WILL MAKE YOU REASSESS YOUR LIFE

Sometimes we get so stuck in routine and we don’t notice that life is passing us by. Having change shakes up our normality and makes us reflect on what we truly want and whether we are on the right path to achieving it.
